Bavarian Inn Restaurant Baker: Pastries, Pies, & Desserts in FRANKENMUTH, Michigan

Part-Time, Full-Time, & Seasonal Options | Shift Time: primarily 4am-1pm for pastries; 10pm-7am for bread production | Wage: $14 or based on skill set

About our Bakery Team:

The Bavarian Inn Restaurant is looking to add new faces to our AWESOME bakery team! We are a high volume, from scratch production bakery providing over 250,000 loaves of bread -- and thousands of cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts -- each year for use in our bakeshop and dining rooms.

Our dessert & pastry bakers are responsible for preparing "from scratch" dessert items such as pies, fruit strudels, butterhorns, dessert bars, and other specialty items. Prior production bakery experience is a plus, but not required. General knowledge and experience baking and working with various dough is a must, even if it is just at home!

Machinery/Equipment Used: digital scales, proof box, different styled mixers, deck & reel ovens, steam jackets, pie press, etc. for the assembling, scaling, and baking of fresh ingredients used in the production of baked goods.

Position Details:

  • Shift Times: primarily 4am-1pm for pastries; plus bread production shift 10pm-7am
  • Bakery is open 7 days per week, 365 days per year; weekend & holiday availability required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8+ hours
  • Must be able to perform continual light to moderate lifting-- up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to tolerate high heat from ovens
  • Strong math skills required to recalculate recipes based on production needs
