Waste Connections Operator in Fox Creek, Alberta
Job Purpose
The Operator position is responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment and water injection. The Operator will be in constant contact with customers and therefore, must demonstrate excellent communications skills and a high level of customer service. As this is a safety-sensitive role and due to the nature of working conditions, the Operator is required to be mentally and physically fit to successfully perform the tasks and responsibilities of this role.
We are currently looking for a Site Operator at our Fox Creek Terminal located 6km west of Fox Creek. This is a shift role, working 7 days on, 7 days off alternating between days and nights and having hours of 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. The successful candidate for this role must provide their own transportation to and from the site. This is not a camp role, so the successful candidate must live in the Fox Creek area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Plant safety (i.e. ensuring that each operation is following Standard Operating Procedures and safety work procedures, SWP permitting, Hazard Assessments and Intelex items are entered in a timely manner)
Responsible for truck unloading, oil emulsion,water & vac trucks (papertrail)
Responsible for oil treating with the treater, cooler or tanktreating
Responsible for properequipment operationand preventativemaintenance
Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations and solids treating
Managing ongoingwater injection, filter changing and pumpmaintenance
Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam systemoperations
Conducting daily, weekly and monthly plantchecks
Performing general cleaning duties throughout theday
Qualifications/Competencies
The individual in this role will have:
A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma orequivalent
A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of Pre-employmenttesting
A minimum of 3 months experience in operations at a TRD facility, treaters, boilers, shaker, centrifuge and pumps
A minimum of 1-year experience processing waste onrigs
A minimum of 1-year operation experience for boiler and oil treating or waterinjection
Has spent a minimum of 3 months as an Operator Trainee
Special training in boiler, treater, shaker/centrifuge, pumps (all) andloader
Yellow iron training (loader, rock truck, skid steer, tractor)
Valid and current safety tickets
A strong attention to detail, communication skills and a profound ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
A proven ability to work well under a frequent amount ofsupervision
Must demonstrate excellentcustomer serviceskills
