Antech Diagnostics Manager – Governance & Internal Controls in Fountain Valley, California

The Manager – Governance & Internal Controls ensures that the Mars internal control excellence framework is implemented and operating and that all accounting policies and processes are in accordance with the Mars Finance Manual as well as local statutory requirements (as applicable). The Manager – Governance & Internal Controls is detail-oriented and has strong accounting and internal control operation/testing knowledge. This Associate works autonomously and collaboratively with many other areas of the global business.
This is a Hybrid role, where the ideal candidate will be located near either of our Hubs: Fountain Valley, CA, Loveland, CO, or New York City, NY. The Target Pay Range for this position can be between $143K - $187K annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to internal control excellence framework across the global division
Ensure annual internal control testing requirements are completed.
Build and oversee a process to ensure that all processes are documented and regularly updated
Serve as lead for internal audits.
Drive other matters of governance and compliance across the organization, including building a KPI framework and roadmap for improvements and remediation.
Lead and present quarterly governance reviews with senior divisional and segment leaders.
Provide recommendations to senior leaders on how to minimize risk
Develop processes to ensure compliance with sustainability reporting requirements
Provide strategic direction across the organization to provide opportunities to align our processes and implement efficiencies.
Support ERP and other transformational initiatives by providing internal control expertise into key construct decisions
Support technical accounting matters across the division ensuring that critical accounting policies and decisions are properly documented
Other ad hoc projects as needed
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting Required, master’s degree preferred.
CPA Preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in accounting and internal controls
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP is required.
Extensive knowledge of ERP programs preferred.
Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects
Ability to work tight timelines
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Travel
Will there be notable travel in this position? Occasional
Percent of time: up to 25%
