Overview:

We are looking for a motivated Backend Java API Engineer who is eager to grow their skills in backend Java development, AWS, and microservices. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of backend APIs, work with AWS services, and help manage database systems. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Java and database, a basic understanding of AWS, and a desire to learn and contribute to real-world projects.

Responsibilities:

• Backend Java API Development:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend Java APIs.

• Ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices in backend development.

• Web and API Operations:

• Develop and manage web services and APIs.

• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable operation.

• DevOps on AWS:

• Learn and apply AWS services and architecture as needed.

• Assist the team in managing DevOps tasks on AWS infrastructure.

• Microservices:

• Help build and deploy microservices, whether on AWS or on-premise.

• Optimize microservices for performance and cost-efficiency.

• Ensure microservices are designed for scalability and resilience.

• Database Management:

• Work with PostgreSQL for table design, SQL queries, and stored procedures.

• Gain experience with AWS RDS and DynamoDB.

• Support database design, optimization, and management.

• CI/CD Pipeline Support:

• Assist in the design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines.

• Support automation for testing and deployment processes.

• Security Awareness:

• Learn and apply security best practices for Java applications.

• Assist with security tools and contribute to security audits.

• Performance Optimization:

• Support performance tuning and optimization for applications and databases.

• Help troubleshoot and resolve performance and stability issues.

  Qualifications:

• At least 3 yrs. in IT with 1 recent yr. of experience in backend Java API development

• Familiarity with Postgres table design, SQL queries and Stored Procedures

• Familiarity and ideally a little experience with AWS services and microservices.

• Knowledge of AWS RDS and DynamoDB is a plus.

• Understanding of security best practices for AWS.

• Eager to learn and grow in backend development and AWS technologies.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Basic knowledge of AWS trends and best practices is helpful.

  Salary Range:  $91,810 to $131,285/yr.
