Senior Migration Consultant (Solaris to RHEL Consultant)

160 hours + 3 month extension onsite Ft. Worth Texas

ALTA IT is seeking a Solaris to RHEL Migration Sr. Consultant with Secret Clearance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, with expertise in migrating Solaris environments to RHEL. On location, part-time, in Forth Worth TX.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the migration of Solaris environments to RHEL, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to operations.

• Develop migration plans, including assessing current systems, identifying dependencies, and implementing best practices for the migration process.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migration and integration of RHEL systems.

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior consultants and team members.

• Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated systems to ensure functionality and security compliance.

• Document migration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

Qualifications:

• CLEARANCE: Secret

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solaris and RHEL systems administration.

• Proven track record of successfully leading and executing Solaris to RHEL migration projects.

• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, networking, and storage systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
