HOWELL INSTRUMENTS INC Sales Engineer in FORT WORTH, Texas

[We are seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a unique combination of technical knowledge, business development skills and demonstrated experience in the aerospace and defense industry. The Sales Engineer will have the substantial responsibility of conceptualizing and engineering robust, and innovative products that meet our customers' needs in both function and costs.

  • Conduct thorough needs analysis and assessments to understand customer requirements and provide technical expertise and guidance on our products and services to address their specific needs.
  • Present and demonstrate our technical products and services to clients, highlighting key features and benefits, and articulating how they can address customer challenges and improve their business operations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team, product managers, and technical experts to develop and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, and solution demonstrations that align with customer needs and requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and new technologies to anticipate customer needs and proactively identify opportunities for product enhancements or new offerings.
  • Research and execute the development of concepts of potential new line extensions to the Howell product portfolio.
  • Provide critical thinking and engineering support for technology programs/projects.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to deliver solutions that will transfer with proven technical performance to Engineering.
  • Participate in specifying new product requirements, and work closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure product features and functionality meet the customer/market needs.
  • Develop and create concept documents and/or drawings associated with new product ideas.
  • Participate in industry technical meetings and conferences when applicable to stay informed on new technologies.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of progressing responsibility in sales and marketing, business.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the products and services being sold, along with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to understand customer needs, identify solutions, and recommend appropriate products or services.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong background in aviation, engineering and technical proposal writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
