Landpoint IT Support Technician in Fort Worth, Texas

Job Title: IT Support Technician

Department: Information Technology

Reports To : IT Manager

Location: Fort Worth, TX 

This position is 100% onsite in our Fort Worth office.

The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software within the organization. This role involves resolving technical issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring optimal performance of IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Provide timely technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems, escalating complex issues as needed.

    Hardware and Software Management

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and assist with procurement as necessary.

    Network Support

  • Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

    User Account Management

  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts and access permissions.

  • Ensure compliance with data access and security policies.

    Software Updates and Patch Management

  • Collaborate with the IT team to schedule and apply software updates and patches.

  • Monitor the health and security of IT systems, implementing best practices for software maintenance.

    IT Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including system configurations, user guides, and IT policies.

  • Document IT support requests and resolutions for future reference.

    Vendor Management

  • Assist in the procurement of IT equipment, software licenses, and services.

  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure timely resolution of issues.

    Backup and Data Recovery

  • Oversee data backup processes and coordinate data recovery efforts in the event of system failures.

  • Implement and maintain data retention and disaster recovery plans.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required); relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are often preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a related role.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

  • Knowledge of network protocols, administration, and cybersecurity principles.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    The IT Support Technician typically works in an office environment, providing on-site and remote technical support to end-users. This role may require occasional interaction with external vendors and service providers.
