We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft.
This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.This role will work both in our Hurst, TX headquarters and the Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX.
Aircraft Communication and Identification Engineer, FLRAA

As a world class platform integrator, you will bring together all the aircraft systems and software to ensure the most efficient and safe systems for the pilots and crew. At Bell you will work with suppliers and customers, to meet mission requirements with the latest technology and modular architectures.
Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop cockpits of the future, through integration of military communication and Identification systems. You’ll work with test pilots and technicians to design and test the next generation of aircraft.
This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. You’ll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.
What you’ll be doing as a Tactical Comm and Ident Engineer:
Build, interface and test multiple communication systems in a modular architecture to meet MOSA, Safety, Security, Environmental, EMI and performance requirements.
Create data interfaces for Ethernet, serial and various avionics bus protocols and support throughout the entire software development life cycle from requirements definition to product deployment.
Manage Comm and Ident suppliers via specifications and statements of work. Estimate and manage schedules, budgets and technology to customer standards.
Collaboration with Bell Engineers from other disciplines to include electrical power, systems engineering, displays, human factors and control panels.
Work directly on the aircraft to test and verify that comm/ident systems meet performance requirements when installed.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To this Role:
Experience developing and validating requirements
System development and testing in a systems integration lab
Aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting
Demonstrated ability in development, integration, validation, and verification of systems
Experience troubleshooting and resolving system integration/verification issues
Experience designing system architectures and managing requirements using model-based systems engineering (Cameo)
Supplier coordination and management
Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers
What you need to be successful:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required.Other Engineering degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
We are looking for engineers with 2 years’ work experience in Identification systems such as ADS-B, BFT, Transponder, IFF; and Comm Systems such as VHF, UHF, HF, Data Links, etc…
Must have the ability to gain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance.
