POSITION: Mold Repair Technician

DEPARTMENT: Lamination

REPORTS TO: Lamination Team Lead

GRADE : 4-entry $19.50;1-3 years exp $20.50;3+years exp $21.50

Job Overview

  • Conditions and reconditions molds for production of helms, bows and other small parts.

  • Ensures overall quality of the production mold including inspecting molds and noting defects for repair.

  • Repair mold to defect free condition and prepping the mold for production by applying many layers of waxes and sealants

  • Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 1 year of fiberglass repair experience required; 1 year fiberglass lamination experience preferred

  • Ability to Multi-Task

  • Ability to read and understand Job Descriptions, Blueprints and Production Schedule

  • Ability to work in a dusty environment

  • Ability to work in a hot environment

  • Auto Body Experience a plus

  • Communication Skills

  • Hand Tool Knowledge

  • High School Education or GED equivalent

  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal

  • Strong Record Keeping Abilities

  • Knowledge of Procedures, instructions, and documents as it relates to the quality system

  • Strong Written and Verbal Skills

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their supervisor immediately

  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators etc.

  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test and physically wear a respirator where required

  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, mitigating inside of molds, spending working hours on your feet, etc.

  • Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.

Shift: Must have the availability to work 10 hour shifts Monday - Thursday. Overtime will be required on Friday based on scheduling needs. Brunswick reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needs evolve. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
