Job Description:

SUMMARY

Working under the direction of the Animal Care Coordinator, incumbent performs routine manual tasks relative to the care of all animals. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations. All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with the City safety rules and operating regulations, policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the ability to interact with the public, City incumbents, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, and professionalism and the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs duties related to the care of animals housed at the shelter including but not limited to the sanitation of the building;

Loads and unloads supplies used by animal care staff in all animal housing areas;

Removes, separates, organizes, all incoming donations from both the business and adoption lobbys;

Operates washer and dryers as instructed;

Sorts, folds, and organizes linens and other washable items in th
