Global Sourcing Specialist

About the Role:

The Global Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing incoming freight, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and maintaining strong partnerships with freight forwarders and expeditor facilities. This role will support both direct imports and third-party vendor relationships, working across multiple departments to ensure smooth and efficient global supply chain operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee and track incoming freight to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

• Partner with freight forwarders to stay current on international shipping regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements.

• Coordinate with internal teams to optimize transportation strategies and reduce supply chain disruptions.

• Monitor and analyze freight costs to identify potential efficiencies and savings.

• Manage communications with expeditor facilities to ensure shipments are processed efficiently and meet company standards.

• Work closely with third-party vendors and their logistics departments to align on delivery expectations and compliance requirements.

• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.

• Partner with supply chain, procurement, and inventory teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.

• Provide insights and improvements on logistics performance and vendor reliability to support decision-making.

• Assist in developing contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Trade, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in global sourcing, supply chain, or logistics management.

• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, import/export regulations, and customs compliance.

• Experience working with third-party vendors and direct imports.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage vendor and logistics partner relationships.

• Proficiency in supply chain management systems and data analysis tools.
