The Role at a Glance

The Actuary, Annuity/RPS Strategic Modeling, will play an integral role focused on developing industry-leading model capabilities and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure our models are optimized to deliver on a broad array of critical business needs.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver research, modeling, and analysis for various strategic projects that directly impact capital management and business strategy in the Annuity and Retirement Plan Services space.

• Gain a thorough understanding of existing models and their applications. Lead the development of model enhancements.

• Evaluate and assess impact of regulatory changes on annuity valuation and modeling.

• Collaborate with Valuation and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to develop, monitor, and validate robust forecasting and attribution.

• Translate actuarial projections into proformas and communicate results.

What we’re looking for

Must have:

• 5-7+ years of experience in actuarial science that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

• FSA designation or ASA designation with additional years of actuarial experience

• Experience with annuity products

• Actuarial modeling and/or valuation experience, preferably in Moody’s AXIS (or comparable actuarial modeling software)

• Ability to think critically, identify and solve potential challenges

• Curiosity and capability to quickly learn new concepts

• Excellent communication skills

• Works well in a team environment

Nice to have:

• Competency with R, Python, SQL, and/or Excel VBA

• Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

• Familiarity with modern data science approaches

Pay Range: $90,300 - $164,700

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
