Summary This position is located with the FMWR Library on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Responsibilities Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public. Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials. Prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials; and/or provides technical services support in a variety of functions. Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade. Or 2. Two years of education above high school. Or 3. A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid but are not guaranteed. Up to 25% recruitment and retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, and are contingent upon eligibility.
