Naval Medical Command PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in Fort Sam Houston, Texas

Summary You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC) of NAVMEDFORSUPCMD FT SAM. Responsibilities You will use judgment to legal advice to independently investigate, plan, develop, and complete administrative legal actions. You will provide legal advise as necessary, in coordination with the RLSO and BUMED Legal. You will prepare/review documents relevant to disciplinary proceedings, non-judicial punishment (NJP) appeals. You will provide administrative separation board recommendations, boards of inquiry findings, and court-martial actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing legal information form Military Personnel Manuel, Uniform Code of Military Justice, Navy Regulations, Manual of the Judge Advocate General, and Manual for Courts-Martial. Experience utilizing the Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Experience using the Navy Correspondence Manual and Navy correspondence formats and procedures. Experience utilizing the Command Evaluation and Manager's Internal Control Program. Experience establishing and tracking risk assessments and vulnerability assessments within an organization.
