U.S. Army South OPERATIONS OFFICER in Fort Sam Houston, Texas

Summary About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Operations Officer at the ACS - G3/5/7 in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Responsibilities Supervise operation of functional areas including the Current Operations Integration Center (COIC), Contingency Command Post (CCP), Operations Support, and G3 Aviation, including a Flight Following Facility at Soto Cano Airbase in Honduras. Supervises directly and indirectly over 50 subordinates, including civilians and military personnel. Manage the development of various counterdrug resource operations. Provide fiscal, budgetary, and resource management oversight for multiple funding streams ensuring alignment among directorates. Recommend actions regarding Counterdrug, Counterterrorism, and Counter Transnational Organized Crime operational and program requirements. Monitor Aviation Operations, Command Watch organization, and the Contingency and Main Command Posts on an ongoing basis. Implement findings from program reviews to develop recommendations to improve operations; 2). Provide instructions to personnel regarding assignments to ensure accuracy of tasks; 3). Coordinate procedures of the operations program to accomplish organizational missions; 4). Manage the development of various counterdrug resource operations to ensure details are documented; and 5). Provide fiscal, budgetary, and resource management oversight for multiple funding streams ensuring alignment among directorates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
