City Of Fort Morgan Inventory Management Assistant in Fort Morgan, Colorado

Job Status: Full-Time Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Days: Mon., Tue., Wed., Thu., Fri. Rate of Pay: $22.65 - $29.44

REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Five years' experience in purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, storeroom and record keeping methods and procedures. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Maintain mental capacity that permits making sound judgments regarding work and maintains regular attendance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

PREFERRED: Experience in utilities operations and nomenclature of materials is desirable. Certification in Supply Management, Procurement or Buyer preferred.

Performs cost comparisons, researches materials and purchases specialized departmental supplies. Manages, tracks, and issues all incoming and outgoing inventory for all city departments including the electric, gas and water utilities. Manages and maintains miscellaneous stores for all city departments. Must generate and submit various reports to the finance department. Responsibilities and assignments are broad in scope and require independent judgment on issues that are complex, interpretive and evaluative in nature. The work of this position involves significant accountability and decision-making responsibilities.
