Dinklage Feed Yard Feed Truck Driver in Fort Morgan, Colorado

REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience operating heavy equipment. Valid driver's license. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

At least a year of related experience and/or training.

KNOWLEDGE

Life Sciences (Animal Sciences) - Knowledge of cattle, animal breeding, and the care of horses.

Transportation Knowledge of principles and methods for moving commodities through feed yard.

Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

SKILLS

Operation and Control Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Operation Monitoring Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Time Management Managing one's own time.

Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Monitoring Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

ABILITIES

Control Precision - Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a vehicle to exact position.

Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting and standing

Vision - The ability to see details at close and far ranges.

Depth Perception - Ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or judge distance between you and an object.

Reaction Time - The ability to quickly responds to a signal when it appears.

The employee must be able to drive a feed truck in a safe manner and lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed outside weather conditions, and driving/sitting for long periods at a time. PPE is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to moderate.

DAYS/HRS: Day Shift 6 days on 2 days off

DESCRIPTION: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Operates a feed truck to distribute a quantity of feed to cattle daily by following specific standards regarding accuracy, distribution, and timeliness. Corrects mistakes by shoveling over fed quantities back onto truck, cleaning up feed spills. Reports feeding mistakes to supervisor so the appropriate course of action can be taken. Cleans bunks regularly including removal of manure and other debris. Performs truck servicing and inspection according to maintenance requirements including checking fluids, tires, and lights alerting supervisor of any problems with equipment. Performs daily preventative maintenance of feed trucks, reporting any maintenance issues to supervisor immediately. Maintains a clean truck by cleaning out trash, wiping out, and washing
