Summary This position is located at Outdoor Recreation Program which is on Fort Moore Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Responsibilities Instructs groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, etc. Using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to participants who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Teaches children as well as adults. Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority. Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers. Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests. Minimum Qualifications: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. Highly Preferred Criteria: Currently pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, OR in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program. Willing and able to work a rotating schedule to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials: This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
