Basic Qualifications:

  • Twelve (12) years experience as a Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required and

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

  • DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IAM Level 2

  • Assist with system design, development and verification testing

  • Create system documentation and build procedures

  • Expertise in Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of Installation Package, tools, software and documentation. Experience must include the ability to support identification of gaps in documentation, software, or other elements of an Installation Package. Expertise must include an understanding of how to evaluate installation resources provided and work with a development team to resolve defects of an Installation Package. The SIE must have experience building an Installation Package. The SIE must be able to create a repeatable installation process for system engineers. The SIE shall identify defects of system implementation documentation and build procedures and work with the development team to resolve and retest these procedures until results are favorably repeatable.

  • The SIE shall have experience integrating solutions into new or modified systems or operating environments. The SIE shall have a background that includes validation and analysis of functional requirements and be able to produce sufficient test cases to validate that the installation meets intended functional requirements. Derive further test cases if needed to isolate any defects discovered. The SIE shall validate any non-functional requirements such as performance targets of the system. The SIE shall assist with updates to documentation based on new test cases or implementation steps identified.

  • The SIE shall review project documentation and build procedures.

  • The SIE shall verify and validate that security controls for the system meet stated confidentiality, integrity and availability requirements.

  • Serve in a leadership role providing guidance and direction to a development or engineering team in a program or perform independent research to analyze and resolve highly complex IT issues, or serve as a recognized subject matter expert in a program-related technology or domain area

  • Develop and deliver technical presentations or demonstrations to customers or stakeholders

  • Recommend processes or standards that enhance the efficiency or productivity of an IT system

  • Develop estimate of resources and schedule required to implement IT systems/components

  • Provide technical guidance or mentorship to other team members

  • Perform an analysis of alternatives and recommend the application of appropriate technologies that meet system performance or functional requirements

  • Design and develop solutions by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users or system engineers and software developers

  • Design and implement solutions to complex problems and large scale projects

  • Research, document and present business cases for migrating to and incorporating new technologies

  • Develop system installation or build procedures or scripts

  • Analyze and resolve system performance issues (e.g., response time or timing problems, interface/integration problems, system bottlenecks, data flow issues)

  • Assist with developing, executing and analyzing integration test procedures for system components
