V2X Warehouse Specialist AMMO (ASP) in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

Working at the Fort Liberty Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), the Warehouse Specialist (AMMO) per forms a variety of duties which included, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes, unpalletized materials, conducts warehousing operations, prepares and updates storage plans, removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping, works alongside with the Warehouse Specialist-CDL and Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Ammo) . Maintains a positive physical security posture of all assigned storage locations/work areas.

Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Has the primary responsibility of Receiving, Storing and Issuing Ammunition.

  • Unloading commercial carriers and uploading commercials carries.

  • Verifies material and against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

  • Delivers materials to prescribed storage locations.

  • Properly stores, stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

  • Conduct warehousing operations.

  • Ensure all assigned storage locations/work areas are locked and IDS system activated at the end of the business day

  • Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

  • Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.

  • May operate hand or power trucks in performance of warehousing duties.

  • Responsible for delivery of rapid deployment ammunition during Global Response Force (GRF) exercises.

  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Desktop Computers

  • Multi-line Telephone

  • Two-Way Radio

  • Multi-Functional Devices

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as Face Mask, eyes, hand, head, and approved safety footwear.

  • Heavy Duty Truck

  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

  • Banding equipment and related items

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas.

  • May require a face mask that covers the nose and mouth.

  • Work will typically be in an outdoor environment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

  • Other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to operate in a prolonged standing environment for up to 8 hours a day.

  • Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment.

  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites at times in the performance of duties.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as a Face Mask, Conductive safety boots, Hard Hat, Safety vest, eye, and hand PPE.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS) Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) preferred or must be able to obtain within 3 months of employment date.

  • Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo-45,63,64,67 and 68) preferred or must be able to obtain within 3 months of employment date.

  • Intermodal Dry Cargo (Ammo-43) preferred or must be able to obtain within 3 months of employment date.

  • Army Electrical Explosive Safety (Ammo-28) preferred or must be able to obtain within 3 months of employment date.

  • Environmental Considerations for Ammunition Personnel (Ammo-31) preferred or must be able to obtain within 3 months of employment date.

  • Must have a valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) years or more experience in warehouse operations preferred.

  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.

  • Forklift experience required; current license preferred.

  • HAZMAT with Ammo certification preferred.

    SKILLS:

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.

  • Work under the direct supervision of the ASP Operations Supervisor.
