Systems Engineer Sr Advisor

Our work depends on Systems Engineer Sr Advisor joining our team to help design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems. This includes the coordination of system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Support for a custom-made system for initial and approval of financial transactions, execution of funds, spend plans and vendor payments.

  • Full time, on-site services and maintenance support of the on-going financial systems solutions. Due to the critical nature and exposure of the current solutions implemented at the client site, there is a need to provide services on an immediate basis.

  • Knowledge required to support includes JAVA, ElasticSearch, COLD, EDStor, FPX, Rex, Vortex, etc., knowledgeable with hardware requirements, working with virtual machines, writing scripts as necessary and knowledgeable with networks, SQL, PowerShell, Python, and Oracle databases / SQL Servers, Windows Servers, Apache/Tomcat, Apache HTTP server, and be familiar with, work with and develop dashboards.

  • Specific duties include applying updates, enhancements, and bug fixes to production systems. Interpret security scans and remediate security vulnerabilities. Optimize financial software and workflows by designing and developing automation and integration applications and methods or modifying current software to fit customer’s needs. Provide customer support for all tiers of financial system issues or general directorate IT issues where applicable. Responsible for routinely collaborating with vendors, and SMEs to coordinate server upgrades, STIG application, and troubleshooting. Support BI and administrative dashboards.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

  • DoD 8570 compliant for IAT Level II

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of related experience

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Python, PowerShell, and dashboards

  • Experience with JAVA Elastic Search, COLD, EDStor, FPX, Rex, etc.

  • Experience writing scripts for automation

  • Experience with Apache/Tomcat, Appache HTTP Servers

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Platforms (2012R2, 2016, 2019)

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V)

  • Requires an excellent working knowledge of information systems and application fundamentals

Security Clearance Level:

  • TS/SCI

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Good business and customer communication skills

  • Detail oriented and organized; ensure accuracy of work

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
