U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

Summary About the Position: This position is located at the US Army MSCOE, Command Element Office of the Chief of Staff G3 Headquarters on Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Mo. Bordering the installation are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2hr. drive to the East and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood. Responsibilities Receive, reviews and analyzes data to determine completeness and accuracy. Develop and prepares read­ahead documents, schedules pre-briefs and answers specific questions pertaining to events and activities.. Maintain logs and suspense records on incoming correspondence, taskings and staffing actions and follows up to ensure timely action to include a suspense tracking system. Review outgoing correspondence for supervisor's signature to ensure material is presented in compliance with suspense, current procedures and policies, proper format, grammar and typographical accuracy. Perform other office management activities that are within established policy, procedures or guidance. Maintain the MSCoE Integrated Master Calendar, the master calendar for the installation. Perform direct support for all necessary travel arrangements required for the G-3, G-3 SGM and Deputy G-3. Prepare and maintains detailed itineraries, schedules and other records of official travel using the Defense Travel System (DTS). Utilize Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel to complete required report. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent which includes processing correspondence and reports, maintaining a suspense tracking system, maintaining a master calendar for an organization, and utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS) to arrange travel for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Conscientiousness Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Reasoning (Clerical/Technical) Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy.
