U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Chief Exercise Control in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

Summary About the Position: This position serves as a Chief Exercise Control developing, integrating, planning and synchronizing projects and missions for the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Moving expenses are not authorized, based on a determination that a move is not in the Government's interest. Recruitment, relocation or retention incentives are NOT being offered for this position. Responsibilities As a Chief Exercise Control, you will perform the following duties: Oversee simulation support, logistical support, and information management functions of the Operations Group (OPSGRP) and activities requiring concurrence/approval and involvement of the Commander OPSGRP. Assist with exercise design based on training objectives, unique missions, composition of forces and the command and control structures of each exercise unit. Participate in exercise area set up and assist with management of exercise manning and shift schedules. Review exercise plans and propose changes that will ensure training objectives are met. Represent higher management at conferences, meetings, and working groups by providing advice and guidance to government and non-government agencies at all levels to integrate OPSGRP actions, projects and activities. Assist operational-level headquarters and the OPSGRPS in training design at exercise Concept Development Conferences and other Joint Exercise Life Cycle meetings. Monitor contractor support to the team in conjunction with the Contracting Officer. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development and planning of projects and missions that support the collective training of military units; and assisting with exercise design based on training objectives, unique missions and the command and control structure of each exercise unit. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Manages Human Resources Oral Communication Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). *All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
