Job Description:

I am partnered with a global enterprise who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. System Engineer to join the dynamic IT team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and supporting complex IT infrastructures, including on-premise and cloud environments. As a Sr. System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking.

• Perform regular system maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and performance.

• Manage and optimize virtualization environments using VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.

• Oversee the configuration and management of cloud-based systems, particularly within AWS and Azure environments.

• Implement and manage enterprise backup solutions, disaster recovery plans, and data protection strategies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, including security protocols and data governance policies.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and IT staff.

  Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 7+ years of experience in system engineering, with a strong background in enterprise IT environments.

• Extensive experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.

• Proficiency in managing virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud solutions.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.

• Hands-on experience with storage solutions like SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.

• Familiarity with security practices, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and endpoint protection.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications such as MCSE, VCP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.

• Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.

• Experience with Linux system administration is a plus.
