Robert Half Senior Application Security Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Description

Candidates must be based in South Florida and hold U.S. citizenship

I am partnered with a Florida based organization who are seeking an experienced Sr. Application Security Engineer to join the team and enhance the application security posture!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead application security assessments and vulnerability management across web and mobile applications.

  • Develop and maintain secure coding practices and guidelines for development teams.

  • Perform threat modeling and security architecture reviews for new and existing applications.

  • Conduct static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST) and manage application security tools.

  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

  • Provide guidance on secure design principles and best practices for software development.

  • Analyze security incidents and recommend remediation strategies.

  • Stay updated with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.

    Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM) are a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in application security or a related field.

  • Expertise in secure coding practices and understanding of common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

  • Proficiency with security tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Veracode, and Fortify.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and security integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

  • Knowledge of cloud security concepts and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment.

  • Knowledge of encryption technologies and secure communication protocols.

  • Familiarity with compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
