Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Project Geologist to be based in Fort Lauderdale, FL

This position is expected to begin in March 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs routine fieldwork (such as environmental multi-media sampling) working under close supervision.

• Performs routine tasks in support of project team

• Other activities may include setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

• Position will require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS in Geology or related field

• Valid Drivers License with a good driving record

• Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, landfill gas and waste) in the South Florida area and completing technical reports for project managers

• Strong technical writing skills. Mechanical skills and hands-on skills. Astute attention to job place health and safety. Effective communication skills (verbal, field notes, etc.).

• OSHA 40-hour Training

Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, moisture, and dryness, radiation, mineral fibers, and vibration. This position requires frequent standing/walking, work in an environment of heavy, moving, equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds; performing repetitive bending/stooping, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection. Position will require wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, face shield, and respiratory protection.
