Advanced Roofing, Inc. Electrical Estimator in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

AGT is looking for a hands-on and motivated Electrical Estimator to join our team in our Fort Lauderdale location. With the opportunity to drive the development and productivity of the business, this role is perfect for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally, and is able to manage their time with little direction while staying focused on top priorities. You must be a self-starter who is driven, sales-oriented, and is able to foster professional relationships with both peers and clients.

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating and pricing of electrical systems on large scale solar projects including conceptual layout for estimating purposes of AC power systems, medium voltage transmission, utility intercepts, and building shutdowns, and ensures that a wide variety of electrical contracts are successfully completed on time and on budget. The electrical estimator is also responsible for conceptual coordination with the engineering and operations team for code and constructability compliance and database management in the Accubid software.

Targeted Achievements

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes site visit information or plans to develop a SOW and electrical sketch development for design build estimating
  • Analyzes blueprints to determine electrical needs
  • Prepares project bids and determines potential profitability of project
  • Manages open bids in Microsoft CRM to ensure all work is completed in the required time frame.
  • Works closety with design engineer throughout the project process on sold jobs to land at a final estimate on sold jobs.
  • Performs project handoff to project managers and operations teams on sold projects
  • Performs change order estimates as required
  • Contributes to post job reviews to document s ccesses and mistakes from completed jobs
  • Develops and maintain ACCUBID database and assemblies for accurate and efficient estimating

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required

Education

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience
  • At least 4 years estimating experience using Trimble - Accubid software
  • Must have experience estimating large commercial electrical projects
  • NEC Code Understanding

Skills and Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Successful Pre-Employment Drug test
  • Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required.
  • Ability to estimate all types of electrical projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Extremely specific to details
  • Excellent mathematic skills to ensure calculations are correct
  • Ability to quickly assess and analyze multiple data points (blueprints, material costs and timelines)
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Dynamic thinker and problem solver
  • Organized results driven self-starter

  • Full time onsite
