U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in Fort Huachuca, Arizona

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This vacancy is for an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) position located at Fort Huachuca AZ. Responsibilities Serve as a senior Cyber Security Engineer and/or Cyber Security Certification in accordance with the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework (RMF). Conduct detailed Cyber Security assessments of systems ranging in size from stand-alone systems to Systems spanning the Global Information Grid (GIG) into the tactical arena. Serve as information security technical advisor and consultant for organizations such as U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC) and higher echelons for assigned systems. Conduct and/or participate with in-progress reviews (IPRs), technical working groups (TWGs), and meetings to resolve specific problems. Develop acquisition requirements packages and follow through to point of award. Represent the Command in technical interactions with other governmental Departments regarding information technical security operations. Conduct implementation of security recommendations and performs security training. Basic Requirements IT Specialist GS-2210-13- IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, based on the grade-level required, at this position being filled. (1)Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others. (2)Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. (3)Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. (4)Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience- One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band level in the Federal Service which includes work that involves1 ) Evaluating system compliance with IT cybersecurity requirements and presenting finalized reports; AND 2) Performing IT/cybersecurity vulnerability assessments as required by directives; AND 3) Recommending countermeasures to mitigate evolving Cybersecurity requirements as they apply to existing systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 12]. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cybersecurity Information Technology Performance Assessment Organizational Awareness Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
