Description

We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Fort Collins, Colorado. This role is within the property management industry and will involve overseeing and managing accounting and finance functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accounting system, managing fixed assets, and ensuring stakeholders concerns are handled appropriately.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounting department.

• Ensure all aspects of accounting principles and practices, business operations, and internal controls are adhered to.

• Handle communications with other employees to ensure that tenants’ and owner's concerns are dealt with appropriately.

• Manage and maintain the computer system, ensuring its efficient operation.

• Manage fixed assets, including maintaining asset records and maintenance agreements.

• Maintain a professional attitude and promote quality of service and customer satisfaction.

• Establish and maintain accounting and paper flow systems.

• Process payroll and ensure all taxes and reports are filed on time.

• Review Security Deposit returns for accuracy and assist with residential Security Deposit returns as needed.

• Maintain commercial tenant information in the computer and monitor insurance certificates.

• Transfer completed work orders to Accounts Payable at least twice a month.

• Maintain records of recurring invoices and process accounts payable.

• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accounting records for all properties and the management company.

• Monitor cash flow and resolve problem invoices and receipts.

• Train employees on the use of the computer system and accounting software.

• Maintain and submit quarterly credit card reserve reimbursement requests.

Requirements • Proven experience in a Controller role or similar position.

• Solid understanding of Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with Auditing procedures.

• Ability to manage Budget Processes effectively.

• Experience with Full Cycle Accounting.

• Skills in Credit Card Reconciliation.

• Competency in Cash Flow Management.

• Experience in Bank Account Reconciliation.

• Ability to Prepare Financial Statements accurately.

• Experience in executing Month-end Close Activities.

• Knowledge of Payroll management.

• Familiarity with the management of Fixed Assets.
