U.S. Army Reserve Command Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor in Fort Carson, Colorado

Summary About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility MacDill Air Force Base East, Army Reserve Aviation Command, located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Applicants must meet the screen out elements to be considered further. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience in the following: ability to assign tasks to subordinates, review work, investigate work related problems, make decisions in regards to equipment, supply and maintenance needs, interview individuals, identify employee training needs and maintain production reports and records. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to lead or supervise Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Physical Effort: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Attendant frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Handtrucks, dollies, and forklifts are available for use in handling heavier items. Working Conditions: Works in aircraft hangar which is well lighted, fairly clean, and well heated but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. One year supervisory probationary period may be required. This is a Logistics Career Field position. You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). If a MSP applicant is determined best qualified and selected, placement must be at the full performance level for priority consideration. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. As a supervisor, you must comply with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements. The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into a supervisory position.
