job summary:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Engineer to join our team, responsible for supporting the design and construction phases of capital projects. This role includes assisting with project documentation, reviewing design plans, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working both independently and with remote teams, contributing to water and wastewater system projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and has experience with AutoCAD, preferably in Civil3D. They must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to grow within the water utility industry. While an EIT certification is not required, the willingness to learn and collaborate is key.

responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing design plans, specifications, and engineering reports for capital projects.

  • File and maintain project records, and compile data for general information and reporting.

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and financial schedules for new construction proposals.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and identify process improvements.

  • Support internal and external audit activities as needed.

  • Provide technical expertise to staff on regulatory and engineering matters.
