PCSI Executive Housekeeper - Augusta Military Medical Center, Fort Belvoir in Fort Belvoir, Virginia

PCSI is looking for an Executive Housekeeper to lead our environmental services contract on Fort Belvoir at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center. The Executive Housekeeper provides leadership and direction to supervisory employees and manages operations of the environmental services department in a large hospital setting. This position is responsible for assigning work, overseeing budget activity, and leading inspections to ensure compliance with all federal regulations and organizational guidelines. The Executive Housekeeper serves as a role model for supervisors and staff by promoting and upholding the organization’s mission and values.

We are looking strong leadership, communication, and operations management skills. Environmental services experience in a medical setting is required. CHESP certification is preferred, or eligibility to obtain within 6 months of hire (training and exam fees to be covered).

What You'll Do as Executive Housekeeper:

  • Provide leadership that supports the team environment and fosters positive morale, quality, and enthusiasm.

  • Collaborate with COR (Contracting Officer Representative) and other US Government officials/leaders at the Medical Treatment Facility, Clinic, and Outbuildings.

  • Execute, maintain, and monitor operations, analyze budgets/financial data.

  • Development of regular reporting of site outcomes and US Government requirements.

  • Drive compliance with health, safety, and industry regulatory agencies.

  • Evaluate equipment and equipment needs and maintain safe operations.

  • Preparation of cost and basis of estimate for bid.

  • Timely communicate sensitive information/requirements to PCSI Corporate or US Government.

  • Maintain compliance/standardization of supply chain.

  • Participates in CBA relationships and negotiations.

  • Assures that work is performed on time and in accordance with established procedures and contractual requirements.

  • Establishes schedules of work tasks, manpower utilization and equipment efficiency.

  • Evaluating performance of managers, and supervisors.

  • Monitoring and maintaining staff levels.

  • Assist in site development of personnel.

  • Work towards continuous improvement with process, patient, visitor, and customer experience.

  • Sustain successful 3 rd party surveys/inspections and internal compliance and safety initiatives/outcomes

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.

  • 5 years environmental services experience in a medical setting required.

  • 5-8 years of management/supervisory experience required.

  • 2 years’ experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Director of Environment Services preferred.

  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) required. OR eligibility for certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Requires knowledge of PC functions and software.

  • Operation of windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, etc., and related applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience developing budgets with understanding of relevant requirements.

  • Experience leading quality and safety procedures.

  • Strong administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Advanced time management skills with the ability to set and manage priorities.

  • Ability to function and interface with all levels of management.

  • Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.

  • Excellent written and oral communication, listening and empathy, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage time, organize and prioritize tasks.

  • High level of concentration and attention to detail.

  • Excellent customer service skills focused on quality, safety, and exceeding expectations.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass credit, criminal, drug, and driving screening.

  • Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject to hazards associated with working in a health care environment that may cause personal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.

  • May be required to work in aseptic areas and be exposed to various chemicals and infectious disease.

  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.

  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
