TheForrest City School Districtis seeking aHigh School Music Teacher. TheHigh School Music Teacheris responsible for developing a comprehensive music program that fosters students musical talents, creativity, and appreciation for music. This position involves teaching various music courses, organizing performances, and providing individualized instruction to students.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging music curricula that align with state standards and student interests.
• Instruction: Teach a variety of music classes, including choir, band, orchestra, music theory, and general music.
• Performance Preparation: Organize and conduct rehearsals for school concerts, competitions, and other performances.
• Assessment: Evaluate student progress through assessments, projects, and performances, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate music education across the curriculum.
• Community Engagement: Foster relationships with the local community to promote the music program and encourage participation in school events.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on music education trends and best practices through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Music Education or related field is required. Masters degree preferred.
• Certification: Valid Arkansas teaching certification preferred.
• Experience: Previous teaching experience in a high school setting is preferred

• Proficient in playing multiple instruments and vocal techniques.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying skill levels.

Working Conditions
