Join our team as an Onsite Sr. Program Quality, Mission Assurance Engineer supporting the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) program in Forest, MS. NGJ is the next step in Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) and is needed to meet current and emerging electronic warfare threats, counter growing threat capabilities and capacity, and keep pace with the continuous expansion of the AEA mission area.

In this role, you will help promote and execute with a meaningful strong quality mindset, practice, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. This individual will assist in implementation of Mission Area strategic quality improvements and play a key role in Material Review Boards, Change Control Boards, and Risk Review Boards. You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor across various NGJ contract phases, from design to production and sustainment. This position is an onsite role.

What You Will Do

  • Implement Quality and Mission Assurance responsibilities as a member of the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Program Quality and Mission Assurance team.

  • Interface with the program quality teams, customers, and multifaceted Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), supporting technical quality and financial performance, as well as compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.

  • Ensure Quality and Mission Assurance engagement in engineering development, design, and test requirements verification, including the transition of design to production.

  • Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program key team members, suppliers, customers, and government representatives, including Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).

  • Lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.

  • Interpret command media in compliance to work being performed.

  • Facilitate AS9100 Internal, Corporate, and Certification Audits.

  • Support implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.

    Qualification You Must Have

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of engineering experience.

  • Experience in other functional areas such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.

  • Working experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment.

  • Working experience interpreting technical drawings, technical data package reviews (TDP), external/internal requirements, and command media.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.

  • Assess Program/Product Quality performance and ensure thorough root cause and corrective action (RCCA) is implemented on the program, including leading investigations and cross-functional RCCA activities.

  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and utilizing resources such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Key Characteristics, Design Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Production Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and/or Control Plans.

  • Six Sigma, Lean, and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications.

  • Support the generation and implementation of required Program/Product First Article Inspection (FAI) plans.

  • Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes).

  • Working experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).

  • Experience in hardware inspections and inspection standards.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.

  • Passionate, high-energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement.

  • Ability to technically interface with various engineering disciplines.

  • Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills.

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 146,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
