Job Purpose :

The Centers for Independence (CFI) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Marketing and Communications to join our executive team. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader and creative whirlwind with a proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with internal and external business and mission objectives. This individual will oversee all aspects of marketing, branding, and communications initiatives, playing a pivotal role in driving growth, enhancing brand visibility, and fostering positive relationships among the communities we serve. The role is also key to underpinning the culture of the agency by stewarding sincere and authentic internal communications.

Essential Job Functions :

  1. Strategy Development: Develop and implement innovative and data-driven marketing and communication strategies that support CFI’s overall objectives.

  2. Brand Management: Lead efforts to build and maintain a strong and consistent brand identity across all internal and external channels and touchpoints, ensuring alignment with agency values and positioning.

  3. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse team of marketing and communication professionals in agency program areas; fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.

  4. Commitment to D&I: Partner with agency leaders to build a more diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

  5. Campaign Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, including the agency’s primary web site, intranet, social media platforms, print, and events.

  6. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research, analyze trends, and gather insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for growth and or community partnerships.

  7. Public Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and stakeholders to enhance brand visibility and manage the agency’s reputation.

  8. Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content for various platforms, including the agency primary web site, intranet, social media platforms, and marketing collateral.

  9. Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities.

  10. Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to the executive team.

  11. Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with agency program areas to ensure brand alignment and maximize impact.

  12. Other duties as assigned by CSOO.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills, Experience, Education, and Credentials :

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  3. Demonstrated experience in brand management, market research, digital marketing, and public relations.

  4. Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communication strategies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  5. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and drive results.

  6. Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements :

The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee may experience or must do to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  1. The position is a hybrid role. Time in office and remote work activity will be determined per the role’s supervisor.

  2. It is preferred that the employee live in the Milwaukee area.

  3. Daily tasks are completed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and the need to reprioritize work multiple times throughout the day.

  4. Travel is required to work with CFI satellite sites in Milwaukee County and surrounding areas as needed.

  5. Job tasks may require sitting for long periods of time.
