Job Title: Training Coordinator - iLIFE

Department: iLIFE - Quality

Job Purpose: The iLIFE Training Coordinator is responsible for creating and developing training standards, materials, and plans for iLIFE staff and external stakeholders using adult learning style principles in both in-person and remote formats. The iLIFE Training Coordinator works together with managers, supervisors, and subject-matter experts to determine training needs, develop training material, and ensure success by developing a training plan, measuring outcomes, and reporting on results. The iLIFE Training Coordinator stays current on trends in training methods and techniques that are educationally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the target audience, as well as on the home and community-based services industry in general.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conducts orientation sessions and acclimates new hires to iLIFE, programs served, general business operations and teams, as well as facilitates the completion of any iLIFE-specific onboarding documentation and soft skills training.

  • Implements structured learning experiences for iLIFE staff and monitors their quality results for orientation and other applicable trainings.

  • Facilitates the development of internal and external training standards and materials with iLIFE leaders and ensures all materials and sessions are educationally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the target audience.

  • Develops methods for effectively communicating iLIFE’s processes, requirements, and any changes that come from internal improvement initiatives or external mandates.

  • Leads or facilitates live webinars or in-person training sessions with support from appropriate iLIFE subject-matter experts.

  • Periodically collaborates with leaders to evaluate the need to update or add new training material or schedule training sessions based on programmatic changes, trends in quality metrics or staff performance, and other indicators that additional support is needed.

  • Develops and implements a system for tracking staff orientations, ad hoc trainings, training retention, and areas needing improvement in the training plan.

  • Stays current on trends in training methods and techniques that are educationally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the target audience, as well as on the home and community-based services industry in general.     

  • Performs special assignments and or projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)

Minimum Required Education: Associate’s degree in Education, Training, Communication or related field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Minimum Required Experience: 2 - 4 years' proven experience designing and implementing training for organizational staff or key stakeholders

Travel outside of office: Less than 10% travel.

Required Valid Driver’s License: Personal vehicle with valid license and auto insurance that meets agency’s requirements is preferred; agency will support using public transportation for candidates that do not meet set requirements or opt to not drive.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing trainings

  • Knowledge and experience in managing a full training cycle

  • Able to comfortably lead trainings and face-to-face conversations with staff, program participants and caregivers

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of the team, as well as work independently, to meet goals and objectives

  • Ability to connect, motivate, and inspire a wide variety of stakeholders, including staff, clients, and the public.

  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills     

  • Proficient skills in computer software such as Microsoft Suite including Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel

Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:

Physical Requirements : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Visual Acuity : The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.

Working Conditions : None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
