Description

Job Purpose:

This is a supervisory position that is responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Crisis Resource Center (CRC) in correlation with the Director of Crisis Services. The responsibilities include leading the clinical authorization process, management of the EHR process/system, participation in hiring process, training, scheduling and supervision of the CRC staff. It further includes responsibilities for maintaining facility and programmatic compliance in adherence with DHS 34 and DHS 83 and DHS 35 administrative codes.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Facilitates partnerships with HMO’s by communicating daily to ensure authorizations and coverage for CRC client admissions.

  2. Provides clinical oversight of daily operations from admission to discharge for CRC clients.

  3. Audits and updates documentation and program compliance. Provides trainings to staff to ensure staff are meeting program standards for documentation. Ensures CRC is ready for audits from county and state.

  4. On boards new clinical staff by 1:1 and group training. Provides refresher trainings to clinical staff.

  5. Facilitates relationships with graduate schools to support intern program. Supervises clinical interns.

  6. Assists the Director of Crisis in establishing new referral sources and continuing to cultivate relationships with hospitals, case management agencies, and the criminal justice system.

  7. Works with Director of Crisis on expansion opportunities for the CRC program.

  8. Partners with the CRC Program Manager to oversee the scheduling of all CRC staff, including overtime management and shift coverage. This also includes tracking of attendance.

  9. Serves an on-call scheduling function for the CRC.

  10. Serves as a liaison with the various program customers to ensure timely facilitation of admission, authorization for payment and any other necessary customer service provisions.

  11. Leads administrative and clerical functions, including answering of phones, assurance of timely and thorough documentation, and medical records management.

  12. Provides assistance to the Crisis Director in collaboration with the MCFI Foundation staff with timely completion of any reporting necessary to foundations and other funding sources.

  13. Works closely with and provides assistance to CRC program evaluator. Disseminates data to interested stakeholders as needed.

  14. Works with Property Maintenance staff to continually assess the facility for necessary repairs and upkeep of the facility and its furnishings. Ensures that all repairs and replacements are performed in a timely manner.

  15. Works to ensure that CRC is a warm, recovery-oriented environment that replicates a home-like environment.

  16. Assists the Crisis Director with planning and adherence to annual budget.

  17. Schedules and coordinates menu planning and grocery/supply orders.

  18. Manages petty cash funds for CRC.

  19. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training seminars and conferences as required.

  20. Reviews, signs off of, and submits Crisis Plans to Milwaukee County.

  21. Creates a summary of current clients, CRC needs and recent referrals each Friday for weekend staff to ensure smooth weekend operations.

  22. Maintains ServicePoint documentation.

  23. Responsible for adhering to agency policies and procedures while carrying out daily responsibilities.

  24. Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills, Experience, Education, and Credentials:

  1. Master's Degree is required in the field of Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Services Field

  2. Minimum of 2 years' experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

  3. Travel is not required for this position

  4. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  5. Professional workplace appearance and conduct; friendliness and courtesy to clients, coworkers and vendors.

  6. Effectively communicates and develops good working relationships with co-workers.

  7. Reliability in reporting to work regularly and on time.

  8. Must possess good communication, listening, writing and organizational skills.

  9. Experience with adults undergoing a psychiatric crisis.

  10. Minimum of 1 years’ supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

  11. Knowledge of community resources available to consumers in the Milwaukee County area.

  12. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing.

  13. Must be able to assist clients with activities of daily living, such as shopping, cleaning and cooking.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee may experience or must do to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  1. On occasion must be able to move, transport, position, push/pull and/ or lift objects and/or equipment weighting at least up to 50 pounds a distance of 450 feet

  2. This position is responsible for the supervision and safety of clients in a crisis setting. As such, this position must be able to observe and assist client’s activities, detect areas of danger, and distinguish when consumers who are non-communicative are in need of personal cares, assist consumers in performing tasks that require fine motor skills and converse clearly with consumers and other people in the community on a frequent basis.

  3. Must be able to successfully convey complex directions to a diverse group of people in both writing and verbally.

  4. Must have the ability to climb at least two flights of stairs.

  5. Work is performed largely at the Crisis Resource Center, a fast paced office environment, utilizing many office appliances including a personal computer.

  6. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week.

  7. This position requires participation in reoccurring ‘on-call’ duties and flexibility in daily work schedule to adequately meet program needs, which may include evenings or weekends.
