JOB REQUIREMENTS: ADVOCAP\'s Head Start program is accepting applications for a Cook for our 2024/2025 program year! ADVOCAP\'s Head Start program prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position will need to have a welcoming and friendly personality to ensure comfortability in working with kids and families that align with our core mission and values for all employees. This position is responsible for preparing and serving meals to students ages 3-5. The cook must be able to work quickly and efficiently to provide and deliver nutritionally guided meals and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen. Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment. Rotate and store food supplies. Cook foodstuffs according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served. Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure food safety. Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Apportion and serve food to facility residents, employees, or patrons. Take inventory of supplies and equipment. Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances, based on estimates of future needs. Monitor menus and spending to ensure that meals are prepared economically. Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures. Implement the cycle menu following policy and budget requirements Possess basic cooking skills and can follow recipes Purchase food needed for meals and snacks Prepare, organize, and set up the food for meals and snacks Join the children at the table during mealtimes Clean and maintain kitchen, food service utensils, equipment, and food storage areas Maintain all required paperwork, compile monthly reports Engage with children Refer child nutrition concerns to appropriate staff members Participate in team meetings, required in-services and pre-service trainings Be available to work early morning and later evening hours and occasional Fridays and weekends Deliver meals to the Center using an Agency van with a liftgate ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Mail a Rsum: ADVOCAP Inc., Human Resources PO Box 1108 Fond du Lac, WI 54936-1108 E-Mail a Rsum: hr@advocap.org Fax a Rsum: 920-927-9930 Apply Online: www.advocap.org
