This position is for an Electrician with a company in Flowood, MS.
Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality work.
Duties and Responsibilities: Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems: Includes wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, lighting, and electrical panels in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Perform electrical inspections: Assess electrical systems for safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations and codes. Troubleshoot electrical problems: Diagnose electrical issues, identify necessary repairs, and ensure electrical systems are functioning properly. Adhere to safety standards: Ensure that all electrical work is performed in compliance with local and national electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies. Install and maintain electrical equipment: Includes electrical fixtures, appliances, and machinery. Read and interpret blueprints: Understand and follow technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to plan electrical installations and repairs. Collaborate with other professionals: Work with general contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time. Test electrical systems: Use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure proper installation and functioning. Provide estimates and recommendations: Estimate time and cost of repairs and recommend upgrades or improvements to existing systems. Maintain electrical tools and equipment: Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and maintain an organized work environment.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or electrical certification is preferred. Licensure: Must be a licensed electrician in the state/region of operation (or eligible to obtain one). Experience: 3+ years of experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial environments. Technical skills: Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and reading blueprints or technical schematics. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA). Physical abilities: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights. Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and efficiently. Attention to detail: Commitment to completing tasks accurately and ensuring the safety and quality of work. Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to work with clients, team members, and supervisors. Driver's license: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: Specialized certifications: Certification in specialized areas such as energy-efficient systems, solar panel installation, or automation systems. Experience with advanced electrical systems: Experience working with commercial-grade electrical systems, industrial machinery, or energy management systems.
Work Environment: Work hours: Typical hours are 40 hours per week, but overtime may be required based on project deadlines. Physical demands: Regular lifting, climbing, bending, and working in varying environments (indoor/outdoor) and weather conditions. Safety gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, including safety gloves, glasses, and hard hats. Travel: Travel to job sites may be required.
