Company Description
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan serves as a common solicitor, storehouse and distributor of food on behalf of its Partner Agencies which are non-profit, charitable organizations serving those in need.
Today the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan provides over 40 million pounds of food each year to those in need through more than 700 partner agencies. Partner Agencies consist of local soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries who strive to feed the more than 300,000 people in eastern Michigan who are food insecure. The excellent relationships established within the Food Bank's 22 county service area and throughout the state has allowed for numerous programs and initiatives to help fight hunger.

Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
To pick up and delivery of prepared meals to feeding and/or distribution sites throughout the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan's service area, while providing excellent customer service along with the ability to understand and comply with Feeding America & AIB/ Safe food Handling requirements.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Timely and professional execution of product pick-up and delivery to feeding and/or distribution sites.
- Maintain rapport with all stakeholders of the Food Bank to foster continued support and professional working relationships within community.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle operations and maintenance on a daily basis, in compliance with department and DOT regulations
- Load and off-load company vehicle as required while exercise safe lifting practices.
- Assist in maintaining an orderly and sanitary work environment that meet company policy & outside regulatory standards
- Perform routine general maintenance and repairs on assigned vehicles , reporting problems to the Transportation Manager
- Complete and perform accurate follow-through on documentation for shipping, receiving, unloading and warehousing of product, as defined by FBEM policies and procedures
- Assist other drivers/warehouse staff with their responsibilities, as directed by the management
- Perform duties in accordance with FBEM safety policy
- Maintain all current licenses, certifications in accordance/compliance with FBEM and State mandated requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Knowledge and Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Professional driving & delivery experience preferred
- Current Michigan Chauffeur License
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proven ability to work steadily and independently with minimum supervision
- Follow standardized procedures
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records. Add, subtract, multiply and divide unit of weight successfully; compute ratio, rate and percent. Write reports and record transactions with proper format and legibility
- Able to be flexible
- Able to do heavy lifting, loading and unloading as needed
Wage:
$15.00/hr
