We are looking for a full-time, skilled, meticulous, results-driven Accounting and Office Assistant to become a valued member of our finance department. This entry-level position is a terrific learning opportunity and will include day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative tasks in our newly opened headquarters in Fishkill, NY. SCHEDULE:Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

LOCATION:HK Programs corporate office at 2 Summit Court, Fishkill, NY 12553.

COMPENSATION:$19.00-$20.00 per hour

BENEFITS PROVIDED:Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401k, 10 paid Holidays, 10 days PTO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with generating billing, preparing vouchers, and sending billing medium to appropriate funding sources.

  • Follow up on all unpaid accounts on an ongoing and timely basis.

  • Reconcile the company credit cards

  • Utilize a remote deposit machine in the office to make deposits, if necessary.

  • Process payments and cut checks in QuickBooks.

  • Input electronic EFT/ACH payments in QuickBooks.

  • Assist with account records and legers.

  • Maintain inventory of office supplies, ordering more as needed.

  • Office management duties, as needed.

  • Light receptionist duties, including greeting visitors and sorting the daily mail.

  • Prepare and maintain various financial, enrollment, and staffing reports.

  • Use instant messaging and video conferencing technology to communicate with coworkers around the country.

  • Ad-Hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma required

  • Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred

  • Knowledge of accounting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Prior experience in bookkeeping preferred

  • Strong data entry skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Working knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English

  • Must demonstrate the willingness to work in a team environment and be a team player

  • Possesses the ability to adjust to changing workflows and processes

  • Ability to work with limited supervision & still be productive, timely, and accurate
