Pacific NetSoft, Inc. Instructional Designer/Videographer, (Ongoing Contract), Virtual + Some Travel t in Findlay, Ohio

Our client, a large manufacturing company with global locations, operates two equipment repair facilities in Ohio (Findlay and Miami, OH). They are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer/eLearning Developer who is also able to produce and edit videos to create first generation eLearning on specific equipment repair procedures. The qualified consultant will have knowledge and/or a background in mechanical and/or electrical processes and be comfortable with related nomenclature and processes. The client is seeking a consultant who will travel occasionally to either Findlay or Miami Ohio to video equipment repair processes to be embedded into the eLearning modules. The repair processes that will require eLearning tutorials are for very specific repair tasks in which there is currently no documentation. These are the more esoteric repair procedures. In this role, you will need to learn these processes yourself so you can take the lead in documenting processes with the assistance of SME's. You will then use this documentation to create eLearning tutorials for maintenance personnel working in these specific repairs. The client has a strong operations and mechanical background but has not worked extensively in creating training previously. Therefore, it will be important to educate the client but also allow the client to lead in terms of available hours and timelines related to pumping out training. There may not be time to conduct an analysis phase. The client company does have an LMS for hosting the training. Since this is first generation training there will need to be a strategy and design phase at the beginning of the project to understand what the client is seeking and what can be produced based on timelines. Skills & Experience Requirements: 10+ years of Instructional Design and hands on eLearning Development experience, serving large companies. Knowledge of adult learning principles, best practices for eLearning, and current trends. 5+ years' experience creating eLearning for technical systems training involving machinery and/or electrical systems. Experience creating and editing videos of processes a strong preference along with providing all necessary tools and equipment. Strong eye for visual design and layout. Must be highly proficient in Articulate Storyline and Rise (consultant to provide their own laptop and Articulate 360 license). Must be efficient and able to develop modules quickly. Must be comfortable in a dynamic and changing environment. Background check may be required for chosen consultant Ability to work with client who is new to learning and development and ability to explain the process. Must be willing to step outside the ADDIE process to document processes and create this first generation of eLearning quickly. Start: Late-July to early-August Duration: TBD by consultant and client. Likely ongoing. Hours: 20+ hours per week with flexible working hours. Location: Mostly virtual with some onsite visits to either Findlay, OH or Miami, OH to video repair processes.
