APTIM Fabrication Supervisor in Findlay, Ohio

APTIM | LFG Specialties is one of the leading providers of compliance equipment in the solid waste industry "landfills". APTIM designs, programs and fabricates flares, gas compression and conditioning systems, and Evaporation systems for the beneficial use and compliant destruction of Landfill gas. APTIM currently has an opening for a Fabrication Supervisor to work full-time at our facility in Findlay, OH.

Work Schedule: 4/10 Schedule (Monday-Thursday from 6:00AM - 4:00PM) Overtime as required.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of fabrication and assembly supervision tasks including:

Production Optimization

  • Formulate task breakdown and distributes to foreman and/or fabricators and electricians.
  • Assign daily tasks for production [cut, weld, blast, paint, wire, startup, pack and ship.
  • Work with manager to meet allocated hours for production, track hours vs. budget, conduct time studies as necessary and provide feedback to Estimating.
  • Determine manpower and utilization requirements and shop work hours with manager based on delivery schedules.

Compliance

  • Keep shop facility up to OSHA, State and Federal Standards
  • Conduct safety meetings according to company policies.

Administrative

  • Approve timesheets and expense reports and schedule employee's PTO.
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring process.
  • Review drawings and work with Engineering on project issues.
  • Collect, review and deliver updated redlines to required parties.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years minimum supervisory experience in a custom welding / fabrication environment.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office and JDE.
  • Read, interpret and direct weld process according to AWS and ASME section IX.
  • Interpret fabrication and subassembly drawings
  • Coordinate with Materials department to ensure parts are available to meet production.
  • Proficient in structural, tank, and piping fabrication utilizing Mig/Fluxcore/Tig/Stick/Subarc welding, manual brakes, CNC plasma table, shears, 4 roll rolling and similar equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise all facets of equipment building including coaching and training of the above operations.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
