The Absence Management Benefits Analyst reports to the Absence Management Supervisor and may be responsible for different workstreams related to employee injury, workers compensation, FMLA, leaves of absence and/or Long-Term Disability.
Assures compliance with all state and federal laws governing workers compensation, Owner Controlled Insurance Programs, American Disabilities Act and Leaves of Absence. State laws vary greatly, so ability to develop knowledge of all states in which the Company operates is necessary.
Conducts special studies and participates in planning revisions in assigned programs to improve Company-wide administration and to meet changing requirements; devises and recommends methods, procedures, and forms pertaining to those activities within area of assignment.
Confers with employees, physicians and Company components to furnish or request necessary information, data, discuss problems of mutual interest, and otherwise assure proper coordination of areas of assignment.
Monitors employees who are on occupational illness or injury leave or sick leave of absence to ensure that all appropriate medical and rehabilitative resources are engaged to expedite the employees' return to work.
Case management of employee injury claims to ensure that all appropriate medical and rehabilitative resources are engaged to expedite the employees' return to work.
Responsible for ensuring adequate objective medical documentation has been provided to determine proper designation for medical leaves of absence.
Able to demonstrate confidentially related to various areas of employee health situations and status.
Promotes positive team oriented interactions and problem solving skills.
Other related duties as required or assigned.
