Job Summary:

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a highly talented team member to provide unmanned systems (such as SkyRaider and Rogue 1) customer focused training. The position will assist with product testing and validation, and provide technical field support for Teledyne FLIR’s customers on a global scale. We are seeking a technically proficient candidate that has great leadership skills and an ability to train and coach others to fly, operate, and maintain the world's best unmanned systems. This job will conduct technical training courses (in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions) for customers and/or employees on the use of our multiple unmanned systems in complex situations. The role will interact with customers and functional organizations to develop specifications for course contents, and will follow up to determine applicability of course material. This person will prepare lesson plans from engineering documentation and field service requirements or software documentation. The job will also work with engineering, technical support, and manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and teach both formal and on-the-job training for our customers.

  • Provide technical field support of company products; resolve maintenance and operational issues and follow through to make sure customers have what they need to stay operational.

  • Aid the customer in troubleshooting procedures for the system and network/communications hardware.

  • Provide customer demonstrations and support to the business development team.

  • Interpret technical documents and monitor product performance, analyze technical data and evaluating maintenance procedures.

  • Provide feedback to Teledyne FLIR Engineers for feature requests and product improvement.

  • Collaborate with inter-company organizations to isolate equipment problems not detected by diagnostics and standard documentation.

  • Provide customer service support by responding to all incoming calls and correspondence, basic troubleshooting and redirection (if required).

Job Qualifications:

  • Able and willing to deploy/travel on potentially short notice 50% -75% to a variety of locations (both domestic and international) for a variety of durations to meet customer needs and statement of work.

  • 2-3+ years of focused experience in a professional service/training role with a medium to highly technical product.

  • Operational experience with US DoD as an unmanned systems operator preferred.

  • Instructor experience, ideally with delivering military, commercial or general aviation curricula preferred.

  • Certified DoD sUAS Master Trainer through a DoD sponsored schoolhouse considered an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal, training/customer support and writing skills required.

  • Software test or system validation and verification experience considered an asset.

  • Proven abilities to perform under stress and to effectively multi-task without sacrificing quality output.

  • Ability to operate independently and interface with all levels of customer organizations.

  • Capable of concise reporting and remote communications.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Wireless Communications.

  • Ability to obtain an FAA Part 107 Certification.

  • Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Salary Range:

$93,500.00-$125,950.000
