Local Hourly Rate (Taxable) = $17
Weekly Travel Stipend Non-Taxed- goes to the net pay = $1813 (Hotel-1260 Meals-553)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team in Washington. The Teacher of the Visually Impaired will provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to educational materials and promoting independence and success in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to evaluate students' visual abilities and educational needs
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, orientation and mobility skills, and activities of daily living
Adapt educational materials and technology to meet the needs of students with visual impairments
Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to support students' academic and social development
Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies for supporting students with visual impairments
Advocate for the educational rights and needs of students with visual impairments
Stay current on best practices in teaching students with visual impairments and educational regulations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
Washington State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
Experience working with students with visual impairments in an educational setting
Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology for students with visual impairments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Understanding of state and federal regulations related to special education services
Qualified for travel rate if permanent residence is 50+ miles away
