Eaton Corporation Mechanical Design Technician- Days in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Technician- Days to join our Fayetteville, NC team.

Shift Hour: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.90 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Mechanical Design Technician will support Operations by auditing/reviewing engineered-to-order documentation to ensure mechanical designs, schematics and wiring diagrams are accurate and meet the product line standards. This role will also be responsible for providing some level of design support, up to and including low complexity mechanical design and bill of material support for the Custom Order Design team. This includes the development of shop order packages utilizing engineering software tools.

In this function you will:

  • Work to standard procedures or written and oral instructions from supervisor.

  • Demonstrate basic computer skills with required software.

  • Work with existing computer systems and data files to be knowledgeable of order status and requirements.

  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing / engineering groups.

  • Work with supervisor and peers for technical direction

  • Coordinate with different levels of the organization to ensure schedules are met.

  • Demonstrate tool use.

  • Demonstrate a basic level of product knowledge.

  • Support tooling and material information

  • Capable of designing control circuits that include the above

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma / GED from an accredited institution

  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

  • Five (5) years manufacturing or production experience

  • Familiarity of manufacturing processes (punching, forming, painting, harness building)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree or enrollment in courses that will lead to a two-year technical degree preferred but not required. Equivalent knowledge and experience (minimum of 10 year) may be substituted for degree requirement.

  • Past work experience and/or completed coursework with Autodesk products.

  • Past work experience with Bid Manager, Design Automation and Mapics.

  • Familiarity with Eaton Lean System/Six Sigma (ELSS)
