Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Site Services Supervisor to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute to the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of a mine site remediation project.

This is a rotational position working at the Faro Mine Site in Faro, YT.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Site Services Supervisor you will be accountable for continuously improving the work team performance through effective use of established processes and procedures. The successful candidate will be accountable for Supervising and/or Planning/Scheduling within the C&M Team.

  • Supervising a team of maintenance technicians or mechanics, ensuring they perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

  • Planning and scheduling maintenance tasks for process equipment, vehicles, or machinery to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (Maintenance Connection), tools, and standards.

  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.

  • Work with Plant contacts and OSHE Members to complete all safety requirements (ie: AHA’s, SWP’s, Lift Plans, etc).

  • Review and promote/reject all new notifications into your work center through the group approval process.

  • Ensure work orders are planned with an emphasis on safety and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification. Also, ensure that work order user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.

  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the “work schedule” for completion by Required End Date.

  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based on priority and required end date.

  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards. Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.

  • Participate in the recruitment of team members.

Ability to effectively supervise, including but not limited to:

  • Prioritize tasks.

  • Hold the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.

  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.

  • Maintain all Crew Safety training requirements.

  • Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • .10+ year's of supervisory experience in mining or related field.

  • Previous experience in a Planning or Supervisory role.

  • Prior supervision in heavy equipment, heavy construction, or mining industry

  • Computer proficiency including experience with any CMMS, Microsoft Office, and related software products.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as required.

  • Must be an enthusiastic promoter of worksite safety and risk control.

  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work including strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Self-motivated individual who is driven to find solutions and strives for continuous improvement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of organization.

  • Capability to determine if the equipment is in a good operational condition or not. Able to support a team with identification of parts and arrangement; find and communicate specific technical information related to the equipment.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Background or education in the Mechanic/Millwright field is preferred.

  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright certification would be an asset.
