Precipart Manufacturing Engineer - Operational Excellence in Farmingdale, New York

Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer of Operational Excellence to coordinate and implement the various tools of Lean Manufacturing. In this role, you will use keen observation ability to recommend and perform process optimization in reducing the overall manufacturing process and increasing profitability for the company. Successful candidates will have strong skills utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and has lead the development and implementation of Lean Initiatives to drive operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and training cross-functionally across all operational levels, using advanced Six Sigma and Lean principles. Champions a culture of continuous improvement by coaching team members in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and fostering a mindset of Operational Excellence.

  • Develops and leads Kaizen events and other continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

  • Prepares, presents, and delivers comprehensive training materials and workshops to educate staff on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.

  • Facilitates cross-functional team collaboration and ensures alignment on project targets and objectives.

  • Conducts regular training sessions and workshops to build a deep understanding of process improvement techniques.

  • Identifies, collects, and analyzes complex operational data from multiple sources to uncover root causes of inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

  • Utilizes statistical tools and data-driven analysis to make informed recommendations for process enhancements.

  • Implements robust problem-solving frameworks such as DMAIC to drive sustained Focuses on business performance improvements that yield zero accidents, defect free products, just in time delivery, at the lowest cost by partnering with subject matter experts and champions to drive results.

  • Develops and implements key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress and measure success of improvement initiatives.

  • Identifies gaps and prioritizes Engineering projects through VSM results. Drives projects to successful completion as defined by improvement scopes and metrics.

  • Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • Minimum 3-years of hands-on experience in a support function, industrial engineering, or project management role in a manufacturing setting

  • Results based Leadership style skill set with strong impact and influencing skills

  • Proven change agent

  • Expert proficiency in the use and implementation of Business Process Reengineering, Total Quality Management, Workshop Management, and KPIs

  • Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)

  • Knowledge of Minitab and/or eVSM is desirable.

  • Lean Certification and background in lean six sigma tools (Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, SMED)

  • Must have a high level of analytical ability

  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks

  • Proven experience in creating and delivering presentations, with the ability to convey complex information in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with leadership, team members and cross-functionally

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred (ME, IE, other), or Operations Management

    SALARY RANGE: $80,000 TO $90,000 / annual
