Energy Program Coordinator

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 pr/yr

Job Type: Full-Time.

The Energy Program Coordinator will oversee the implementation of energy efficiency programs and strategies, ensuring successful participation in the NYSERDA Energy Efficiency program and the PSEG Long Island Energy Savings Program. This role involves developing and executing strategies, establishing and maintaining quality assurance processes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant documentation and certification standards related to BPI, NYSERDA, PSEG LI, and ANSI. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in energy efficiency, and a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations.

Energy Program Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities:

Program Implementation and Management:

  • Supervise the day-to-day implementation of energy efficiency programs, ensuring all activities align with company goals and industry standards.

  • Develop and execute strategies for successful participation in the NYSERDA Energy Efficiency program and PSEG Long Island Energy Savings Program.

  • Track and manage financial aspects related to program incentives, ensuring all payments and project completions are accurately recorded and reported.

  • Monitor program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to optimize results.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure all projects meet the highest standards of excellence.

  • Ensure all documentation and certification processes related to BPI, NYSERDA, PSEG LI, and ANSI are completed accurately and submitted on time.

  • Understand residential EE audits and inspections and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Support team of Energy Efficiency Auditors and other staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

  • Provide training and support to ensure team members are knowledgeable and compliant with all relevant energy efficiency standards and best practices.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including program administrators, regulatory bodies, and clients.

  • Represent the company in meetings with NYSERDA, PSEG LI, and other relevant organizations, advocating for the company’s interests and ensuring alignment with program requirements.

Technical Expertise and Support:

  • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on energy efficiency, providing technical guidance and support to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the energy efficiency sector.

  • Oversee the preparation of all necessary reports, documentation, and certification materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Ensure all records are maintained in compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage program budgets, ensuring all activities are completed within allocated resources.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the energy efficiency program, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy efficiency program management or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of BPI, NYSERDA, PSEG LI, and ANSI standards and certification processes.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Additional Requirements:

  • BPI certification or the ability to obtain certification

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
